T.O. or Ochocinco to Dallas?

There is a rumor floating around that Terrell Owens could possibly return to the Dallas Cowboys. Especially since he has dropped agent Drew Rosenhaus for a Dallas area Agent by the name of Jordan Woy. While most fans will laugh this off as something that is not worth the ink it is printed with, let me remind you who our GM is…and yes, he would take another shot with a receiver like Terrell Owens. As much as it makes any fans stomach turn, it is a very real possibility. But that’s not the only thing that is looming on the horizon.

Chad Ochocinco was just released by the Patriots and is now free to go play wherever he is wanted. His name has not been directly linked with Dallas in any real rumors, but knowing he is out there will make Jerry pick up the phone and test the waters. But the idea of Ochocinco coming to Dallas is a real head scratcher, because he hasn’t really been a stellar receiver throughout his career. His antics and outspoken personality have made him the star he is currently in the NFL. Would he mesh with the team? Or would he clash with the coaching staff? Both of those are valid questions, and hopefully will never be answered.

Now let’s think about the scariest possibility of all, both of these players could wind up on the Cowboys roster. Because if Jerry Jones can make the money part of it work, and he thinks it will help his team win, he will try to do it. Bringing in one of these guys is going to be a disaster, then adding both of these two distractions to the roster will destroy this team to the very foundation. Hopefully Jerry will pass on both of these guys, because the T.O. circus has already failed once, and Ochocinco would almost be laughable in a Cowboys uniform. Let these guys go play elsewhere, so we can sit back and laugh at them, instead of hiding our heads in shame.

Chad Ochocinco has signed with the Dolphins. One problem averted.

  1. Thought provoking article. Surely Jerry would not take the T.O. route again, but he is not known for his football sense. Great article.
