Series Recap – Chicago White Sox

Texas RangersThe Rangers are coming off taking three out of four against division foe Seattle, and they will finish off their home stand with a three game series against the Chicago White Sox.   This could be a big series for the Rangers since they will hit the road after this for back to back series against divisional opponents on the road, while the division may not be won in April, it can be lost if you have a poor enough showing.

4/18 – Paulino vs. Perez: Rangers 12 – White Sox 0 – Martin Perez once again comes out and shows he is a quality pitcher by going the complete game and giving no runs on three hits. But the offense was the big story of the night as the bats woke up in bit way and the Rangers scored 12 runs on 18 hits. It was a complete effort for the offense as the Rangers hit, stole bases and even went yard twice. This performance gives hope the offense will start doing more for their pitchers.

  • Perez 9IP, 3h, 0R
  • Martin 3-5, HR, 4RBI
  • Chirinos 3-5, HR, 2RBI
  • Adduci 3-5, 1RBI
  • Rios 3-5, 2RBI

4/19 – Quintana vs. Lewis: Rangers 6 – White Sox 3 – Colby Lewis started his second game and would come out and pitch five and one-third innings, only giving up one run on six hits. While it is amazing that he is even pitching right now, to come out and be as good as he is amazing. Luckily for him the bats were alive again as the Rangers held a four run lead at one point during the night before he left. This is the fifth straight win for the Rangers which are currently in the longest win streak of the young season.

  • Rios 3-4, 1RBI
  • Choo 3-4, 1RBI
  • Fielder 1-4, HR, 1RBI

4/20 –Johnson vs. Ross: White Sox 16 – Rangers 2 – Some days are just not your days and on Easter Sunday, this was not the Rangers day. The bats have been very active over the last few games and on this day, they went quiet. This happens from time to time in baseball, just have to hope they can rebound from this before they lose a few more.

  • Sardinias 1-1
  • Martin 1-2

Up Next:
Three game road trip to Oakland, then a day off after 14 straight days of games.

  • Tanner Scheppers went on the 15 day disabled list because of elbow problems.
  • Adrian Beltre is eyeing a return on Friday after DL stint.
