Happy College Football kickoff!

Much like a child on Christmas day, the excitement and anticipation is building with each passing hour. But unlike Christmas Day, there won’t be any literal opening of presents, the present in this case is the first official kick off of our favorite sport. Tonight will be the first set of games to start off the greatest season in all of sports, football season. It is a countdown that started back in January when the final bowl game was played and it has been a long, slow, and very painful crawl to this point. We have had to deal with national signing day, spring camps, spring games, and just endless teasing about the upcoming season. Well tonight that all comes to an end and we will finally be able to enjoy the sounds of crunching pads, and ravenous fan bases rooting their team to victory.

While the better games of the kickoff weekend will be played later on, I really don’t care who I watch, just as long as I can enjoy College football for the first time in oh so many painful months. Labor Day weekend is like Christmas times 1,000 to guys like me, because we have to suffer through so many months of non-football, that by the time July hits, we are starting to lose our sanity and we have to dig up old games to satisfy our craving to football. But tonight there will be a collective cheer across the country when the first kickoff is set, and it will lead into a full weekend of College football action. This is like having Thanksgiving,Christmas and New Years day all rolled into one over a four day span.
