Early Look at Louisiana-Monroe 2014 Schedule

louisiana-monroeThe Louisiana-Monroe War hawks are coming off of an interesting 2013 where they expected to compete for a conference championship, but they ended up falling short of that goal and would up ending the season 6-6. This year they have an easy start to the year with back to back home games against winnable opponents. But then they start a tough road with a game at LSU and also have to travel to College Station before the end of the season also. This team should be able to rebound with a better season, but it depends how they start the year. They could be an eight or nine win team if everything falls into place.

Realistically this team probably has about seven wins in them and that should be enough to grab a bowl bid. The War Hawks will have some veteran leadership under center this season and that should help them find their winning ways again since they lost some key players leading into this season. The Sun Belt Conference will be a tougher conference this season than it has been in years past and it will be tougher to climb the mountain and win it all, but the War Hawks look to be on an upward trend and could end up being a dark horse in the Sun Belt this season.

Expectations won’t be through the roof for this team, but the local fan base will be looking for a winning season and a hopeful bowl berth to be able to hang their hats on and then the expectations will begin to rise from there. Head coach Todd Berry will try to squeeze the absolute best out of this team each and every week. There will be a more in-depth preview once we get closer to the season.
