The Dallas Stars clinched a playoff berth for the first time in eight years, while it has been a while since the Stars tasted post season hockey, this will be an exciting time for the young Stars team. Once you make the post season, anything can happen and the Stars have about as good a chance as anyone else in the playoffs. Because it is about getting hot when it matters most.
The Stars will be an eighth seed and will start their post season journey on Wednesday against a familiar foe in Anaheim. Can the Stars as an eight seed knock off a number one seed? sure, it has happened and it can happen. But it is still very unlikely, The Stars have a young team and they may crumble under the bright lights which most will expect, but the lessons this team learns right now will go a long way for the future.
If the Stars find some way to knock of Anaheim and continue into the Stanley Cup Playoffs, then their odds of going deeper and deeper will improve. Just because this team is young, they seem very hungry and will fight to the finish of each game. Their best bet will be trying to split the games on the road and try to win majority at home. Obviously as an eight seed, they won’t get game seven at home, so trying to avoid those on the road will help them also.
