In a surprising move today from Head Coach June Jones announced he was stepping down due to personal reasons from the SMU coaching job. While there has been some speculation he would probably not make it past the season, most everyone figured he would at least finish out the season before stepping down.

The Texas Longhorns started the new “Strong Era” with a seemingly impressive win over North Texas on Saturday night. While fans seemed optimistic about the win, and the thoughts of the season going forward, I would tap the breaks on any thoughts this team will blow the doors off the Big 12.

This coming season the Texas A&M Aggies will venture into a new era of Aggie football. After having two successful seasons and surpassing most peoples expectations. While most Aggie fans realize this season will be harder than the last two, they seem to think they will still be able to compete in the Southeastern Conference without Johnny Manziel.

Early Look at Louisiana 2014 Schedule

Louisiana Rajin' CajunsThe Louisiana Rajin’ Cajuns are are coming off a 9-4 record, a Sun Belt championship and have won the last three R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl games. So, needless to say, Coach Mark Hudspeth has turned the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns into a good program and has them on the winning track. But once again the expectations will be higher going into 2014 and the conference looks to be tougher this year than it has in past years.

Early Look at Louisiana-Monroe 2014 Schedule

louisiana-monroeThe Louisiana-Monroe War hawks are coming off of an interesting 2013 where they expected to compete for a conference championship, but they ended up falling short of that goal and would up ending the season 6-6. This year they have an easy start to the year with back to back home games against winnable opponents. But then they start a tough road with a game at LSU and also have to travel to College Station before the end of the season also. This team should be able to rebound with a better season, but it depends how they start the year. They could be an eight or nine win team if everything falls into place. Continue reading
