Bearkats and Grizzlies set to tangle in Semi-finals

Friday Night there will be a semi-final match up in the state of Texas between two top 5 programs in the championship subdivision. The Montana Grizzlies will bring to the table a 10 game winning streak against the Sam Houston Bearkats, who have a 15 game winning streak and are the only undefeated team in the FCS.

This will be the 2nd time these two teams have met in the semi-finals, the first since 2004 when Montana beat Sam Houston. Montana is a seasoned program with 11 semi final appearances. While Sam Houston is only in their 2nd semi-finals, which they lost the last time to the Montana Grizzlies. Montana holds the series edge over the Bearkats 3-1. But they are playing this game at Bowers Stadium on the Sam Houston campus, and the Bearkats are 4-0 in playoff games at home.

Sam Houston State has made a big statement this year, with this team being the first team to win an outright conference title and go undefeated through the season and playoffs. Sam Houston has the distinction of being the only undefeated team in the playoffs and the number one seed overall.

Montana has the tradition of success at this level and has won two national championships. However Sam Houston State is a team on a mission this year and looks to ride their winning ways to a national championship. Both of these coaches are Eddie Robinson Award finalists, so chances are that the winner of this game will not only have a chance at a championship, but the coach will have a chance to lock up the award. Either way it should be a barn burner in Huntsville, TX. It is going to be one game I have to watch, and you should too!
